There can be different types of RFEs depending on the specific type of visa or immigration benefit being sought.
Here are some different types of RFEs (Request for Evidence) that can be issued by the USCIS:
- H1B RFEs: Request for Evidence related to H1B visa petitions, as described in my previous response.
- I-140 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to employment-based immigration petitions, such as the Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker.
- I-485 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, which is used to apply for a Green Card.
- I-130 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, which is used to sponsor a family member for immigration to the U.S.
- EB-5 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to EB-5 immigrant investor visa petitions, which require a significant investment in a U.S. business and the creation of jobs for U.S. workers.
- H-1B1 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the H-1B1 visa, which is a temporary work visa for citizens of Chile and Singapore.
- L-1 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the L-1 visa, which is used to transfer employees of multinational companies to the U.S.

- TN RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the TN visa, which is a temporary work visa for citizens of Canada and Mexico under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
- P-1 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the P-1 visa, which is used for athletes, entertainers, and artists who are internationally recognized for their achievements.
- E-2 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the E-2 visa, which is a nonimmigrant visa for investors from certain countries who make a substantial investment in a U.S. business.
- F-1 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the F-1 visa, which is a nonimmigrant student visa for individuals attending academic programs in the U.S.
- J-1 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the J-1 visa, which is a nonimmigrant visa for individuals participating in cultural exchange programs, including students, interns, and trainees.
- K-1 RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the K-1 visa, which is used for fiancés or fiancées of U.S. citizens to enter the U.S. and get married within 90 days.
- U visa RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the U visa, which is available to victims of certain crimes who have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse and are willing to assist law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution of the crime.
- TPS RFEs: Request for Evidence related to Temporary Protected Status (TPS), which is available to individuals from designated countries who cannot return to their home country due to ongoing armed conflict, environmental disasters, or other extraordinary conditions.
- DACA RFEs: Request for Evidence related to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which is a program that allows certain individuals who came to the U.S. as children to remain in the country and work without fear of deportation.
- I-601A RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the Form I-601A, Application for Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver, which allows certain individuals who are in the U.S. illegally to apply for a waiver before leaving the country for consular processing of their immigration application.
- T visa RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the T visa, which is available to victims of human trafficking who have been forced to perform labor or services, or who have been subjected to sex trafficking.
- H-2B RFEs: Request for Evidence related to the H-2B visa, which is a temporary work visa for nonagricultural workers who will perform temporary or seasonal work in the U.S.
